Who We Are

Community Living Walkerton & District is an organization of people committed to advocating for and supporting persons who have intellectual disabilities to live and fully participate in all aspects of community life. Initially formed in 1956 through the actions of a group of parents seeking opportunities for the future of their children, supports continue to evolve to assist citizens to participate successfully in routines of daily living.  Parents, friends, & professionals are working together to ensure that “all persons live in a state of dignity, share in all aspects of community living and have the opportunity to participate fully”. Our membership is made up of individuals who support the goals of the organization. The membership elects a volunteer Board of Directors to represent the membership in  coordinating the activities of carrying out the goals, objectives and policies of the agency.
