What We Do
People who have developmental disability sometimes require supports beyond those required by other community members.  Through a variety of supports and services CLKD assists people to participate fully in the life of the community while exploring personal goals and ambitions.

Our Supports Include:

Infant Development Program: Offers a range of prevention and early intervention services  to families with infants and young children between the ages of 0-5 who may be delayed in their development or at risk of developmental delay.

Family Support: This program is designed to provide support to families that have a son or daughter with a developmental disability.  The program seeks to strengthen family involvement by providing information and support to advocate and assist in obtaining the appropriate resources and services for their family member.

Accommodation Supports: Community Living Kincardine & District offers three different supportive living programs (Residential Services, Shared Living  and Supported Independent Living). Each provides assistance to individuals with a developmental disability to allow them to live as independently as possible in a variety of living arrangements.  The amount of support will vary from individual to individual depending on personal need.

Drop-In Centre: The Centre is located at 286 Lambton Street and offers a casual setting that provides a wide variety of leisure, life skills, employment related skills and on the job training.

Foundations: This is a two step service designed to support youth aged 16-21 while attending high school and young adults aged 21-28 after they graduate from high school.  Foundations supports individuals with a developmental disability, make successful transitions from secondary school to a wide range of community activities and work options.
